The Forum was a unique opportunity to convene more than 160 Global Partners of the GPSA – a diverse array of development agencies, international CSOs, and local organizations and private sector groups from around the Globe – alongside government representatives and World Bank staff. It was an occasion to recognize, connect, and share knowledge with many relevant actors in the field of Social Accountability.

The Mwananchi Programme is a member of the Govenance and Trasparency Fund event series, in which different Governance and Transparency Fund grantees present their experiences implementing their projects and discuss what they have learnt about the different aspects of governance and accountability programming.
An honest forum for discussions about accountability, power and development isn’t always easy to find. Issues of external aid financing for internal social accountability building, holding parliamentarians to account and finding ways to strengthen democratic structures are complex and sensitive issues.
